Disciplinary System

The Haitian Academy follows a merit point system which rewards students for engaging in positive behavior and eliminates privileges for those who engage in negative behavior. Students who do not follow the school’s written policies and guidelines lose points.

Depending upon the infraction, students may be assigned chores and other work detail to be completed after school or on the weekends. The students who follow the rules and generally engage in positive behavior, and are rewarded with points which may be exchanged for extra privileges.

Our unique program helps students recognize that their actions affect their lives and others around them. They develop the ability to consider all possible outcomes resulting from their decisions and their behaviors. They accept responsibility and consequences for their negative actions as well as the responsibility and rewards for their positive actions.
